Fall time & leaves; the time of the year when leaves fall. These two go hand in hand. That’s where we come in, Make a Difference Day 2016.
Here in the U.P., we live surrounded by forests, so naturally there’s lots of leaves that fall this time of year. For the 2nd year in a row, we participated in the national Make a Difference Day this past Saturday. Every year, on the same day, thousands of people across America volunteer for their communities and help complete various projects. Here in Marquette, through Northern Michigan University, we rake the yards of those in our community that need assistance. It’s hard work! Depending on the terrain, some yards accumulate mounds of leaves, branches, acorns, pine needles, etc. We take pleasure in knowing that the volunteering we do for a few hours really makes a big difference for the homeowners.
Thank you Northern & the Center for Student Enrichment for initiating Make a Difference Day in our community!
